Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water has players assuming the role of Yuri Kozukata, Ren Hojo, and Miu Hinasaki. The trio is investigating Mt. Hikami to find someone who went missing. However, the place is haunted, and overcoming its spirits will demand them to use the traditional Camera Obscura, which has the power to damage ghosts by taking photos.

As players go through the areas and face these spectral dangers, they’ll be able to obtain Spirit Fragments. Those will allow them to unlock upgrades for the Camera Obscura with a more resilient lens or film that causes more damage.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 28, 2021.
