Far: Changing Tides’ Gameplay Trailer Has Some Genuinely Emotional Beats
Publisher Frontier revealed the Okomotive-developed Far: Changing Tides as the sequel to Far: Lone Sails for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam later in 2021.
During gameplay, players control Toe, who is trapped in a drowned landscape with little hope for survival. Luckily the little hero finds an abandoned ship and journies across the horizon to find answers about what happened to their home.
The trailer itself showed off the drowned world as Toe emerges from the depths and laying eyes on what has become of the world. Going from the remains of a drowned city, a forest, and finally to a small town built on the side of a cliff.
Don Schmoker said he wanted to tell a different but complementary tale to the original game that should both feel familiar and fresh and exciting for players. The meditative side-scrolling gameplay and haunting soundtrack promise to be a lasting experience that fans of the original will come to love.
