Fantasian Receives Major Update (Version 2.5.0) Adding Void Realm and New Game+ Today
The Mistwalker developed Fantasian has received a brand new update, version 2.5.0, which adds 2 significant pieces of content to the turn-based RPG.
Firstly is the Void Realm, a new dungeon consisting of 3 floors representing the 3 major towns of the game, Frontier Town of En, Vence, City of Water, and the Vibra Royal Capital. In these environments that have endured severe corruption, players will have to confront 3 randomly placed Void Crystals in each area to initiate a boss battle.
Afterward, Yim, who was corrupted by this Void, must be fought and subsequently saved in the title’s most challenging boss fight ever. All manner of stratagems and acquired equipment must be used to achieve victory in this dangerous battle.
New Game+ has also been added, which carries over levels, skills, and equipment from the first playthrough into a new one. However, to even access New Game+, players must have reunited the party, awoken their divine artifacts, and obtained the Tachyon Medal from the God Realm. Further, one can still initiate New Game+ if the game has not been beaten by satisfying those conditions mentioned above and visiting the Altar in Shangri-La.
Sakaguchi shared the following message regarding this update:
“I could not be happier to release this massive update. I’ve left nothing on the table as we complete the Fantasian saga, which is a compilation of my life’s work thus far.
We have heard some of you say that the bosses in Part 2 are quite challenging, but through trial and error have managed to defeat said bosses and witness the ending. Watching the players overcome our challenges has given us new energy.
The immense satisfaction that our players have experienced as they defeat the final boss, we hope turns into ‘the power to move them forward’ in all aspects of their lives. This major update to the game is for all the players who want to clear every aspect of the world Fantasian has to offer.”
Fantasian is set in a world governed by machines where the balance of Chaos and Order is the crucial factor in the struggle within this multi-dimensional universe. Players will take on the role of Leo, who has awakened after an explosion without his memory and facing a strange land. The journey begins to reclaim Leo’s memories as players uncover the truth behind a peculiar mechanical infection consuming mankind.
The story is written by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi with music by Nobuo Uematsu.
The battle system uses a “Dimengeon Battle” mechanic, allowing players to send previously encountered enemies into a separate dimensional dungeon to streamline combat and maximize uninterrupted exploration of the beautiful locations.
Players will explore dioramas with over 150 different types. Creating Fantasian’s real-life miniature sets are veterans who have worked on projects like the Godzilla films, Attack on Titan, and Ultraman. In addition, Fantasian serves as a vehicle to bring these works of art into the digital space via Apple Arcade.
