Fantasian Will Reward Exploration and Release in Two Parts on Apple Arcade
Mistwalker released new information for their newest RPG Fantasian, in development for Apple Arcade for a 2021 release.
In a new video, we get to see that players will be able to play through the game using different paths. This is dependent on their actions and choices made during gameplay when navigating through the environment. Further, those who explore will find secret items and equipment.
We also learned that the game will release in two parts on Apple Aracde, making it a rather lengthy experience for the mobile device. I would only hope this means a possible console release at some point.
Translation group, Strangely Compelling will be working on the localization for the game. The team is worked on, Steins;Gate Linear Bounded Phenogram, World End Syndrome, Devil May Cry 5, and more.
Fantasian is set in a world governed by machines where the balance of Chaos and Order is the key factor in the struggle within this multi-dimensional universe. Players will take on the role of Leo, who has awakened after an explosion without his memory and facing a strange land. The journey begins to reclaim Leo’s memories as players uncover the truth behind a strange mechanical infection that is consuming mankind.
The story is written by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi with music by Nobuo Uematsu.
The battle system uses a “Dimengeon Battle” mechanic, which allows players to send previously encountered enemies into a separate dimensional dungeon to streamline combat and maximize uninterrupted exploration of the beautiful locations.
Players will explore dioramas with over 150 different types. Creating Fantasian’s real-life miniature sets are veterans who have worked on projects like the Godzilla films, Attack on Titan, and Ultraman. Fantasian serves as a vehicle to bring these works of art into the digital space via Apple Arcade.
