Fan Finds Secret Cheat Code Leading to Last Ending in NieR: Automata Through Reverse Engineering
In a shocking turn of events, an incredibly tenacious and skilled fan by the name of @manfightdragon on Twitter has found a rather absurd cheat code hidden in NieR: Automata. This cheat code has been stated to be found through hundreds of hours of reverse engineering, which shows the clear dedication the fan has for this title.
This now discovered cheat code allows players “to skip to the last ending immediately after killing the first boss and unlock the bonus modes.” Once again, just to reiterate, this is an actual cheat-code coded into the game. It is not a glitch.
You can see the cheat code in action here. Twitter user @manfightdragon states that he will have a full video on the cheat code soon.
To say I’m surprised is an understatement. This is pretty crazy and unprecedented, but considering that this is a Yoko Taro title, this turn of events does fit in with the eccentrics of his work.
Speaking of NieR, NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… is releasing later this year on April 23, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam. NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… takes place before the events of NieR: Automata and is a remake of the original NieR: RepliCant that released for PlayStation 3.
UPDATE: The official NieR Twitter account has congratulated the user for their find. With @manfightdragon adding, “Two years ago, the creator of NieR Automata suggested that there was still one last secret no one had found in NieR Automata.”
