Falcom & Promethium Books Announce 2 Trails & Ys Tabletop Roleplaying Games Releasing 2024

Promethium Books, a “publisher of the Curesbrand Chronicles, Epic Age, and Advent Horizon tabletop role-playing games,” has announced a collaboration with developer Nihon Falcom to produce two original tabletop RPG games based on the Trails and Ys franchises. The two titles are scheduled to release in 2024.

Information on both games is quoted below:

The first game, Ys: Age of Heroes, will be a traditional fantasy TTRPG set in the world of Ys, where players can take on the role of heroes following the footsteps of Adol Christin and his friends, exploring the dangerous lands of Ys while battling the forces of evil.

The second game, The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Destiny, will be a more modern TTRPG where players face the complex political backdrop of the continent of Zemuria, investigating mysteries and fighting the forces of corruption.

The two games will be designed for experienced tabletop role-playing gamers and newcomers alike using the Promethium System ruleset. Each will feature a rich and detailed world outline, a variety of character backgrounds and classes, and a deep and engaging combat system.

Promethium Books Creative Director Ashram Kain stated the following about this collaboration:

“We are excited to partner with Nihon Falcom to bring these two beloved franchises to the tabletop market. The Ys and Trails games are some of the most popular and critically acclaimed JRPGs of all time. We are confident that our tabletop games will be a hit with existing fans and draw new fans to the series.”

Nihon Falcom President Toshihiro Kondo stated the following about this collaboration:

“We are happy to be working with Promethium Books on these two projects. We believe that Promethium Books is the perfect partner to bring the worlds of Ys and Trails to the tabletop, and we are excited to see the wonderful adventures our fans create.”
