Falcom 1980s Action RPG ‘EGGCONSOLE XANADU PC-8801 PC-8801mkIISR’ Now Available West on Switch

D4 Enterprise has announced that the Nihon Falcom side-view action RPG, EGGCONSOLE XANADU PC-8801 PC-8801mkIISR, is now digitally available on Nintendo Switch in the West for $6.49.

EGGCONSOLE XANADU PC-8801 PC-8801mkIISR sold 400,000 units in Japan during its initial 1985 release.

This title has players explore ten stages as an adventurer on a quest to defeat the King Dragon. The map has various stores to peruse and monsters to defeat, but the latter are finite, meaning they’ll never appear gain once they’ve been slain.

The combat of EGGCONSOLE XANADU PC-8801 PC-8801mkIISR is a symbol-encounting system, which just means that encountering a foe will switch scenes to the battlefield where you use magic and weapon attacks. Treasure chests, items, and money can be obtained once you emerge victorious.

There are two types of experience and levels. Depending on which type of character is used to defeat enemies, you can grow into a warrior or wizard type. Weapons, armor, and magic have experience values, too, and using the same items repeatedly can enhance their overall effectiveness.

The following notes are significant:

  • The main game and gallery screen (*Gallery) are in Japanese version.
  • Other menu screens and “”How to play”” screens are in English.
