Fairy Tail: Dungeons is heading to Nintendo Switch on January 7, 2025, alongside a large content update for the existing PC version on Steam. Developed by ginolabo and Kodansha Game Creators’ Lab, Fairy Tail: Dungeons adapts characters and magic from Hiro Mashima’s long-running series into a deckbuilding roguelike. In case you missed it, check out our review.

The Switch release arrives almost a year after the game launched on PC, and it launches at the same $13.99 price. The update will be released the same day on Steam and includes new content for returning players. The game supports English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Korean, French, and Thai.

In Fairy Tail: Dungeons, you form a three-character team, collect magic cards, and take on runs through a shifting underground maze. Battles use turn-based card combat where your card order matters, letting you trigger Magic Chains for extra damage. Each run gives you chances to upgrade cards and skills before heading back in for another attempt.

This update marks the game’s first major expansion since launch, adding five new playable characters: Gajeel, Juvia, Mirajane, Laxus, and Gildarts. It also folds in more than 200 amulets, over 170 cards, 100 skills, 50 Labyrinth quests, 30 monsters, and 20 items, giving you more ways to build and customize your team.

You will also find new modes and system updates. Special Labyrinth Exploration adds another layer to late-game runs. Labyrinth and Abyssal Conquest difficulty options push experienced players further. A new casual mode focuses on story progression, and the card upgrade system now lets you fuse duplicates. UI and control improvements round out the patch.
