Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord Announced for PS4, PS5 & Switch; September 2022 Japan Release

Japanese insider Ryokutya2089 has revealed via the upcoming issue of Weekly Famitsu that a new entry in the Compile Heart developed Fairy Fencer F series is releasing in Japan on September 15, 2022, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch. Titled Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord, this entry brings back characters from the original game and its remake, Fang, Tiara, and Eryn. In addition, a new character, Fleur, is introduced.

Music seems to be an integral facet of the experience, with a battle mechanic dependent on party members singing. Many characters from the games are stated to be returning, and treasure hunting on the world map is confirmed to be one of the selling points.

We’ll be sure to keep you all updated on any further announcements for this unexpected sequel and potential localization news.

This game news was teased two days ago under the newly unveiled Galapagos RPG Evolve brand. Unfortunately, not many details have been shared on what makes this evolution genuinely noteworthy, but that will assuredly arrive in due time.

Fairy Fencer F

Fairy Fencer F: Advent Dark Force follows the story of a war between the Vile God and the Goddess. After the war, the power sealed by the two entities evolved into weapons known as the Furies, the warriors who used these weapons were known as Fencers. These Fencers fought each other for the power until one day, a man named Fang saved a girl named Tiara, who was also a Fencer. Fang then finds himself playing a key role in the continued war of the Vile God.
