The newest Weekly Issue of Famitsu contains new information on Fairy Fencer F: Refrain Chord. The following characters from the previous two games have been confirmed to be returning:
Regarding gameplay, players only have a certain number of actions represented by sword icons on the bottom right of the screen. One can replay past stages, explore or go to town, which all use an action point. A new character, Peppen, a seemingly alternate version of the party member Pippin, is used to spend these action points to find treasure spots on the map.
Bonding events can occur at inns with various characters, where the protagonist Fang can deepen his relationships. Shops and crafting are also returning with the expected functionalities. After crafting an item, it will become permanently available in the shop for purchase. Lola from the previous games is back as an informant as well. Quests are back too, which grant various rewards like gold or recovery items. One’s rank will also heighten depending on quest completion.
The Opening theme is called “Inori no Onshoku” or the “Timbre of the Prayers,” while one Ending theme is called “Hikari no Koudou” or “The Beat of Light.” Further, another Ending theme is Kioku no Hazama or “The Memory Interstice.” Lastly of note is that the voice actress for the new character, Fleur, will be singing the Opening theme.
