Existential Turn-Based RPG ‘Dreamed Away’ Launches Steam Demo
Polish indie publisher Pineapple Works has announced that a free demo for their emotional action-adventure RPG by French solo developer Nicolas Petton, Dreamed Away, is now available on PC via Steam.
Throughout this game, set in 90s France, protagonist Théo is trying to find his sister, Louise, in a dark, mysterious world. The title emphasizes the sibling’s bond, the fear of death, and the nature of reality itself. Further, the story is an “intense reflection of the developer’s own story, born at the same time as his second child.”
In a comfortable village in Brittany, the initial impressions of the locale are positive, with safety and delight making themselves quite prevalent. However, unknown darkness begins to make itself known, and as a result, Théo questions his sanity and reality. Combat is turn-based with real-time enemy attacks and no magic or weapons. Dodging enemy strikes consists of dodging mini-games that look heavily inspired by Undertale.
