Evolution of Atelier Ryza’s Thighs – All Three Games Compared

With the incoming release of the Atelier Ryza trilogy finale, Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key, we decided to perform a necessary test that every fan has likely been pondering since the game’s announcement. How much has the protagonist, Reisalin Stout, grown throughout her adventures? More specifically, have her beloved thighs truly become larger across these three entries, or has our collective zeitgeist of arousal deceived us all into believing a false reality?

If you missed it, check out our Preview of the game.

To truly ascertain the genuineness of our perceptions, we did a brief and quick test of Reisalin’s walking animations throughout her three titles, Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout, Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, and Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key, emphasizing our attention on her thighs and whether they have grown alongside the beloved protagonist.

And well, they certainly have. To be completely honest, I thought that the growth of Ryza’s thighs was a supposed belief exaggerated for comedic effect, but when seeing her appearances compared right next to each other like this, you can undeniably see that her thighs in the third entry are the biggest they have ever been. They even rub together at this point. It’s pretty wild stuff—immense thanks to the development team, especially the character designer Toridamono for their efforts.

Lead writer Yashichiro Takahashi has returned to write this third entry. Taking place a year after Ryza 2, the titular protagonist and her friends discover newly appearing islands, called the Kark Isles, near their home of Kurken Island. The party decides to investigate these mysterious happenings but ends up finding a gate within some ruins, with a voice wanting to lead Ryza to the Code of the Universe.

Four regions will be explorable in an open field, all boasting seamless transitions. Keys will also be found and created; they all have unique effects for synthesis, battle, and exploration. Moreover, a total of 11 party members are confirmed.

Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & The Secret Key will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on March 24, 2023.
