Rockfish Games released new details and gameplay from the action space shooter EverSpace 2, coming to Steam Early Access this December.
The trailer gave viewers a look inside the cockpit of the ship as it zoomed around various environments. The developer furthers the immersive systems by giving players the option to play without a HUD, which will satisfy those flying-sim nerds. Additionally, we get a look at the various ship types, upgrades, and color customization that can affect the cockpit interior.
The developer also announced that the star system Union will be explorable in the Steam Early Access build. This trading hub opens the game up in several new ways that the team is excited about as it introduces space cloud formations, thunderstorms, shattered asteroids, and other unique environments in space and on planets through procedurally generated locations using Unreal Engine 4.
“Fueled by glowing feedback on the EverSpace 2Prototype and Closed Alpha, our team was even more motivated to continue pushing the technical and artistic envelope,” says Michael Schade, CEO and Co-Founder of Rockfish Games. “The introduction of the new star system Union demonstrates what an exceptional visual and gameplay experience a next-gen space shooter like EverSpace 2 can offer to hardcore fans of space action games. We cannot wait for avid space pilots to delve into the first two of eight star systems in EverSpace 2 later this year. We’re looking forward to continuing to work closely with the community to deliver on our ambitious vision.”
Early Access will reintroduce Okkar, an alien race from the origin EverSpace, and will add two additional ship classes allowing for 5 – 10 hours of gameplay on top of the ready 10 hours offered in the Alpha content. Currently, a demo is available.
