PQube announced that they will publish the Sone Lantern Games-developed 2D puzzle-platformer Evergate on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam in 2020.
Evergate is a 2D puzzle-platformer that features an align-to-shoot mechanic. This allows players to guide the whisp-like character Ki through dreams, memories, and reincarnation. The game spans like, death, space, and time as players find themselves taking on a variety of puzzles across each environment. The puzzle are said to be open-ended, allows players to take them on in various ways.
Evergate features hand-drawn artwork and artifacts that are used to upgrade KI and the mysterious Soulflame to access new abilities.
The publisher also released a new trailer for the game that gives players a look at its level design and puzzle structure. The align-to-shoot mechanic allows players to stop in place and fire a beam of light. If this hits an explosive object in the area, it will launch Ki across the map. It seems like using the ability in a few different ways will give Ki access to new areas.
