Espgaluda II is a shmup initially released in arcades in 2005 and on Xbox 360 in 2010, which formerly stayed exclusive to Japan apart from an old mobile release. The Switch version adds new modes for beginners and experts, including, Normal Mode with higher image quality than the arcade version and Novice Mode for beginners. Further, players will find an Arcade Mode that reproduces the arcade version along with an Arranged Mode with readjusted system and sounds.

In addition, this version of the game features the Black Lable Mode that allows players to play as the exclusive character Seseri. For added accessibility, there is also a tutorial function and the option to customize the screen’s resolution. Players can look forward to multiple levels with fast-paced action as players weave through bullets. Each playable character has a special ability, such as a bullet-time skill used to rack up higher scores.
