During PAX West 2023, we had the chance to go hands-on with the Jyamma Games-developed Soulslike adventure Enotria: The Last Song to learn more about its unique systems and gameplay elements. We all know these types of games are going to be difficult, but there are some unique mechanics in this release that give off the impression that this will be a game to keep an eye on.
Enotria: The Last Song offers a unique gameplay experience reminiscent of the Soulslike genre, set in a sunlit realm inspired by Italian folklore and fraught with peril.
In this world, the Canovaccio, an enigmatic eternal performance, has ensnared every aspect of existence in an unnatural state of stagnation. You take on the role of the Maskless One, the sole figure unbound by predestined roles and master of your own fate. Your mission is to vanquish the formidable Authors responsible for this predicament and liberate the world from its unchanging prison by harnessing the power of Ardore.
As you embrace the Mask of Change, you gain the ability to assume the roles of your defeated adversaries, each offering unique gameplay styles with their own strengths and vulnerabilities. You can seamlessly switch between up to three personalized Loadouts at any moment, enabling you to strategically adapt to the challenges in Enotria without the need for a complete re-spec.
Further diversify your playstyle with the Path of Innovators, a distinctive talent system that allows you to slot talents into your Masks, creating customized builds effortlessly. Harness the power of Ardore to dynamically manipulate reality, strategically shifting between environmental states to solve puzzles, uncover secrets, navigate a decaying world, and gain a tactical advantage in combat.
Enotria: The Last Song is in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam, a release date has not been announced.
