Elgato has announced Wave Next, a new audio platform that combines updated software and several new hardware devices under a single ecosystem. The lineup includes Wave Link 3.0, Wave:3 MK.2, Wave XLR MK.2, XLR Dock MK.2, Wave XLR Pro, and Stream Deck + XL.
Wave Next marks the first major overhaul of the Wave platform since it debuted in 2020. The focus this time is tighter integration between software routing, onboard hardware processing, and physical controls designed for streamers, podcasters, and other content creators.
At the center of the update is Wave Link 3.0, a redesigned version of Elgato’s mixing software. It is now free on Windows and macOS and works with most microphones, mixers, and audio interfaces. The software allows up to five independent submixes, so users can separate voice, music, chat, and game audio into different outputs for streaming, recording, or calls.
Each channel supports VST plugins for individual processing. A new horizontal routing table replaces traditional vertical channel strips, offering a clearer overview of how sources are assigned. Applications can be assigned to channels with a single click, and multiple apps can be grouped within one channel. Stream Deck integration generates custom control layouts based on a user’s setup.
When paired with Elgato Wave hardware, Wave Link 3.0 unlocks additional features such as guided setup, a device control panel for managing onboard processing, Auto Gain Wizard, monitoring mode selection, and LED customization. Elgato is also introducing dedicated effects through its Marketplace, including tools developed by third parties specifically for the Wave ecosystem.
All of the new Wave hardware runs on a custom Wave FX Processor chip developed in partnership with Lewitt Audio. The chip moves key processing tasks onto the device itself instead of relying entirely on a PC. This includes Clipguard 2.0, which uses multiple analog-to-digital converters and 32-bit floating-point internal processing to reduce distortion. Five onboard DSP effects—Low Cut Filter, Expander, Voice Tune, Compressor, and EQ—run with zero added latency and no CPU load. VST Insert technology creates a low-latency path between hardware and Wave Link, sending processed audio directly into applications without virtual routing workarounds.
Wave:3 MK.2
The Wave:3 MK.2 is a USB condenser microphone built around a supercardioid capsule tuned with LEWITT. It features a multifunction dial with an LED ring for gain and monitoring control, capacitive mute, and onboard storage for settings. Users can monitor either DSP-processed audio or the full signal chain with VST effects applied.
Wave XLR MK.2
Wave XLR MK.2 is designed for XLR microphones. It offers up to 80 dB of clean gain, 48V phantom power, and 135 dB of dynamic range. It includes Auto Gain Wizard, a high-power headphone output, and selectable monitoring modes. Linear Mic Mix and Mic/PC Mix controls allow users to adjust how microphone and system audio are balanced during use.
XLR Dock MK.2
XLR Dock MK.2 is built specifically for Stream Deck + and does not function as a standalone device. It adds 80 dB of clean gain, 48V phantom power, onboard DSP effects, and low-latency VST Insert support. Controls are managed directly through Stream Deck + dials and LCD keys, combining audio input and physical control into one device.
Wave XLR Pro
Wave XLR Pro, scheduled to ship in Q2 2026, is positioned as a dual-input desktop interface. It features two independent XLR inputs, each with 80 dB of clean gain. The device supports five hardware-based mixes for zero-latency monitoring across stream, recording, and personal outputs.
It also includes a built-in Maximizer for maintaining consistent loudness and per-channel Ducking that lowers other audio sources when someone speaks. The front and rear panels offer both 3.5 mm and 6.3 mm headphone outputs capable of driving headphones up to 600 ohms. Additional connectivity includes USB Aux for linking a second PC, console, or phone, as well as stereo line I/O for external mixers or powered monitors. A Standalone Mode preserves routing and DSP settings without a connected computer.
Stream Deck + XL
Stream Deck + XL expands on the Stream Deck line with 36 customizable LCD keys, six multifunction dials, and an ultra-wide touch strip. When paired with Wave Link and Wave hardware, it allows users to adjust levels, mute sources, toggle effects, and switch between mixes with direct visual feedback. It also maintains compatibility with workflow controls across other applications outside of audio.
Wave:3 MK.2, Wave XLR MK.2, XLR Dock MK.2, and Stream Deck + XL are available starting today through Elgato’s website and authorized retailers. Wave XLR Pro launches in Q2 2026. Wave Link 3.0 is available now as a free download.
