Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Expansion Announced

Developer FromSoftware and publisher Bandai Namco have announced that their critically acclaimed open-world Souls-like, Elden Ring, will receive an upcoming expansion called Shadow of the Erdtree, letting players set off on new adventures.

A preview image of the DLC was also shared alongside the announcement, but seeing as I haven’t played Elden Ring, I’m unsure if it contains any narrative-relevant or gameplay hints. Regardless, I’m sure that this news is quite exciting for fans.

The game was recently confirmed to have sold over 20 million units worldwide.

Elden Ring features the action systems that FromSoftware has proven effective through their Dark Souls series, but the team has also focused on building a narrative with this title. With the help of Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin, the game features a fantasy story where players control the fate of this world.

Users will meet various characters with their own motivations that may end up helping or hindering progression. Throughout the game, one will choose the fate of this cursed land by unraveling its secrets and myths.

The game was updated to add Colosseums.
