Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree Development Proceeding Smoothly

Kadokawa recently launched their Earning Results report for The 2nd Quarter Ended September 30, 2023. As the parent company of developer FromSoftware, a few statements were made regarding Elden Ring.

Kadokawa stated that while the release timing for the highly anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree Expansion has not been unveiled, development on the project is progressing smoothly.

Specifically, Kadokawa said the following:

The release timing of DLC for ELDEN RING has not yet been announced, but development is proceeding smoothly.

We are currently working hard on the development of DLC for ELDEN RING but we have not announced a release date at this time.

Additionally, unspecified measures for maximizing the long-term value of Elden Ring will be taken for the second half of the Fiscal Year ending 2023.

The report also emphasizes the success of Armored Core VI, with exceptional domestic sales and global sales expected to grow in the year’s second half. Roughly 2.8 million units of Armored Core VI were sold worldwide, with 700,000 of those sales being from Japan alone.

Elden Ring features the action systems that FromSoftware has proven effective through their Dark Souls series, but the team has also focused on building a narrative with this title. With the help of Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin, the game features a fantasy story where players control the fate of this world.

Users will meet various characters with their own motivations that may end up helping or hindering progression. Throughout the game, one will choose the fate of this cursed land by unraveling its secrets and myths.

Elden Ring is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. If you missed it, check out our review.
