Elden Ring Sells Over 20 Million Units Worldwide
Publisher Bandai Namco has announced that the FromSoftware-developed action RPG, Elden Ring, has sold over 20 million units worldwide. To say such an accomplishment is noteworthy is a severe understatement. Considering this title’s success, this number isn’t terribly surprising, but it’s still jaw-dropping—immense congratulations to the developer for this monumental feat. Perhaps I’ll even play Elden Ring one day.
In August 2022, the game was confirmed to have sold over 16.6 million units worldwide, so well over three million have sold since.
Elden Ring features the action systems that FromSoftware has proven effective through their Dark Souls series, but the team has also focused on building a narrative with this title. With the help of Game of Thrones author George R.R. Martin, the game features a fantasy story where players control the fate of this world.
Users will meet various characters with their own motivations that may end up helping or hindering progression. Throughout the game, one will choose the fate of this cursed land by unraveling its secrets and myths.
The game was updated to add Colosseums.
