El Paso, Elsewhere Revealed in Trailer as a Tribute to Max Payne-esque Shooters
Strange Scaffold revealed their newest game, El Paso, Elsewhere, is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC via Steam in Fall 2023.
The developer released a new trailer highlighting the game’s main protagonist, James Savage, and the trials he has ahead of him. This third-person shooter takes inspiration from classics in the genre, such as Max Payne, and I’ll even throw in The Matrix video game.
As Savage, players will fight against monsters from folklore and fiction. He must fight these creatures to progress forward and maybe even learn not to be so gloomy all the time. His adventure begins after learning that his ex-girlfriend, Draculae, the lord of vampires, is conducting a ritual that will destroy the world; Savage returns to his hometown of El Paso, Texas, to kill the monster he loved.
Through flashbacks and monologues from Savage, players will learn what led Savage to split from his ex and how and why he was drawn back.
During gameplay, players can dive in slow motion and run across walls as they shoot down these demos. The arsenal includes dual pistols, shotguns, uzis, stakes, and more.
We’ll keep you updated on the development of El Paso, Elsewhere.
