Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes Main Story & More Will be Fully Voiced; Over 60,000 Lines & 100 Characters
The latest Kickstarter backer update for the upcoming turn-based JRPG, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, clarified and revealed notable information regarding the title’s voice work. Recent promotional material has shown that there will be voice acting, particularly for main characters Noah, Sei, and Melisa, but its extent was not stated. However, it’s now been announced that the main story will be fully voiced, alongside battles and town facilities.
Further, when accounting for every aspect of the game, there will be over 60,000 voiced lines, which is quite extensive when considering how there are over 100 characters. Additionally, the team has said that each character has more than 80 different lines per battle, so there’s definitely a ton of work to be done there.
“And that’s just for the characters who can fight, which on its own amounts to a thousand lines.”
The staff is currently at work preparing for the voice recordings. Moreover, the antagonist, neutral, and mob characters will receive their own fair share of voice work, so players have plenty to look forward to in the audio department.
“It isn’t as simple as turning a scenario script into a proper script for voice recording. We also have to organize and script stuff like the lines and cries in battle scenes too.”

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is meant to be a love letter to the classic Japanese RPG genre featuring exploration and battles in high-resolution 2.5D graphics using pixel-based characters, similar to what we saw in Octopath Traveler. The story will revolve around war and friendship and introduce a diverse cast of 100 unique heroes to join the quest, which is very Suikoden.
Battles in the game will be turn-based, with parties of up to six members. More information about the battle system will be revealed soon.
Murayama-san left Suikoden developer Konami in 2002 and formed his own company known as Blue Moon Studio. Since the company’s launch, he has been active in the game development industry by lending his scenario writing skills to several projects, including The Alliance Alive and Warriors Orochi 4. Rabbit & Bear Studios was formed in March 2020 to act as a way for these creators to work on the games they want.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is releasing for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2023.
