Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes Development in Final Stages; New Screenshots Planned to be Shown From Start of 2023 Onward
The latest Kickstarter backer update for the upcoming turn-based JRPG, Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, has shared many comments from the development staff.
- Kickstarter backer update detailing the extensive voice-acting work the game is receiving.
- Kickstarter backer update discussing Theater mini-game, voice acting, and hot spring scenes.
Junko Kawano stated that their work on the character illustrations is almost complete, though they’ve begun assisting in creating the pixel art for the in-game food.

Osamu Komuta shared the following statements regarding development:
“Production on Eiyuden: Hundred Heroes continues at a clip as we start to incorporate components into the main build. Various problems may arise as we insert prototypes and confirmed specifications into the build and we have to solve these one by one, but we work with the team every day to find solutions.”
Most significantly, though, Komuta also stated that they are in the final stages of the title’s development, and additional screenshots are planned to be shown from the start of 2023 onward. We’re certainly extremely excited to learn more about this game next year.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is meant to be a love letter to the classic Japanese RPG genre featuring exploration and battles in high-resolution 2.5D graphics using pixel-based characters, similar to what we saw in Octopath Traveler. The story will revolve around war and friendship and introduce a diverse cast of 100 unique heroes to join the quest, which is very Suikoden.
Murayama-san left Suikoden developer Konami in 2002 and formed his own company known as Blue Moon Studio. Since the company’s launch, he has been active in the game development industry by lending his scenario writing skills to several projects, including The Alliance Alive and Warriors Orochi 4. Rabbit & Bear Studios was formed in March 2020 to act as a way for these creators to work on the games they want.
Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is releasing for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in 2023.
