Eastward: Octopia Revealed as New Story DLC Coming to Switch and PC

Chucklefish announced that the Pixpil-developed adventure RPG Eastward will receive new story DLC called Eastward: Octopia, coming to Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam. A release date has not been confirmed.

The premium DLC adds new content and systems to the game as players once again join Sam and John on an adventure to revitalize the land around them. This is essentially a farming sim added to the game where players will grow crops, tend to livestock, and unleash their culinary creativity using freshly farmed produce to whip up scrumptious new meals, which are then stored in John’s Big Cookbook. There are fishing holes to visit, ghosts to chat with, and a colorful cast of Eastward characters to impress with John’s new recipes.

Throughout the game, the nearby town also sees growth as players watch the town transform from an abandoned fairground to a real community.

The DLC will be available at the Start Menu of Eastward for players to jump right into the farming segments, even if they haven’t completed the game. Further, the content adds 15 – 20 hours to the campaign and will be playable in English, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

Eastward introduces players to John and Sam, who have been forced into an adventure that will change their lives forever. The fate of the world rests on their shoulders, but much of the game’s charm comes from the characters you meet along the way.
