D3Publisher has announced that the Sandlot-developed Earth Defense Force 6 will be delayed in the West from Spring 2024 to Summer 2024. The teams are working on the finishing touches to finalize this upcoming release. Thankfully, fans won’t have to wait too much longer after this delay.
Earth Defense Force 6 takes place three years after 2025, Earth Defense Force 5, when humanity defeated the invaders known as the Primers, resulting in peace at the cost of 90% of the planet’s population. Now, while at relative peace, survivors attempting to rebuild the world find themselves contending with threats left behind by the Primers. They “left behind many alien colonists, and the two species have become increasingly hostile toward one another.”
To combat these organisms and figure out the meaning of the ring-shaped object in the sky, the Earth Defense Force is called upon once more.
The game will feature the collective return of the Ranger, Air Raider, Wing Diver, and Fencer classes, all boasting new abilities and equipment. Additionally, alongside plenty of weapons, there are over 100 missions to complete, as well as two-player co-op and online co-op with up to four players.
Earth Defense Force 6 will launch in the West for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam
