The state of E3 has been flimsy. While most gamers love the event, the industry has been distancing itself from the show floor to appear at their exclusive event or host their showings elsewhere. However, after Covid, many events had to opt for a digital version, but E3 didn’t catch on as well as others. As a result, E3 2022 was canceled altogether, but the promoters promised to return in 2023.
Today, E3 2023 dates have been announced. The show will take place from Tuesday, June 13, 2023, through Thursday, June 15, 2023. These dates have been reserved for registered industry personnel to network in person, hold professional meetings, and connect with licensors and distributors. Further, registered media can attend these days to go hands-on with titles.
From Thursday, June 15, through Friday, June 16, a separate hall will be available for consumers to go hands-on with games and connect with the developers.
A dedicated content theater, open to ticket holders, will run during these days and offer deep-dive looks at highly anticipated titles.
E3 is being operated by ReedPop, the group behind events such as PAX, EGX, New York Comic-Con, Star Wars Celebration, and more.
“E3 is one of the global gaming industry’s few opportunities to come together, unite as one loud voice, and show the world what it is creating,” said ReedPop VP of Gaming Kyle Marsden-Kish. “Our vision is to reunite the industry by re-establishing the traditional E3 week, bring back that spark, and restore E3’s role as a truly magical global showcase event for game creators and consumers.”
Media registration for E3 2023 will begin in December 2022. Confirmed exhibitors, hotel and travel guides, event schedules, and more will be shared in the coming months.
