Dying Light 2 Won’t Have Romance Options for Aiden Caldwell
Dying Light 2 lead game designer Tymon Smektala has shared a new Ask Me Anything video about the development of Dying Light 2 where fans can ask questions about the upcoming zombie action game.
Aside from character details, where Aiden searches for his identity and place in the world. It does have something to do with his past, but Tymon doesn’t want to spoil too much.
One interesting question focused on romance options within Dying Light 2, which is something seen in many western RPGs. Tymon confirms that players may experience strong and complex relationships between some of the characters. This includes the main character and the NPCs and the NPCs between themselves. However, even though there are “quite a few very strong female characters,” players won’t be able to romance any of them. The reason? Tymon adds, “because this was never our goal.”
In Dying Light 2, players assume the role of Aiden Caldwell, who has found his way to The City, the last bastion of humanity where factions fight for power and regular citizens fight to stay alive. It’s going to be up to the player to choose Aiden’s fate through missions and decisions. This story is in the player’s hands.

Dying Light 2 is in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
