Airship Syndicate will reveal its next title, DUST: Origins, during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25. The sci-fi action game comes from the studio behind Battle Chasers: Nightwar, Darksiders Genesis, and Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. A Kickstarter page is now live and open for pre-registration; the launch will likely follow the reveal.
DUST: Origins is set aboard an orbital prison station in the middle of a catastrophic collapse. Players awaken after being abruptly freed from cryogenic imprisonment and must escape before the station tears itself apart.
The station is home to violent criminals and monsters, putting combat at the center of the escape. Airship Syndicate describes the game as handcrafted, though further details about its combat, progression, and other systems have not been announced.
The project brings together artists and developers who previously worked on Darksiders, Battle Chasers, and Ruined King. Airship Syndicate is also teasing the game with the tagline, “No saints. Only survivors. Actions have consequences,” though the studio has not explained what those consequences involve.
Platforms and a release window for DUST: Origins have not been announced. More details are expected when the game is revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25.
