2D Grid-Fighting Game ‘Duelists of Eden’ Revealed in Trailer as Sequel to One Step From Eden; Features PvP Modes and Rollback Netcode
Thomas Moon Kang announced they will release Duelists of Eden on PC-via Steam in 2022.
Duelists of Eden is set after the events of the One Step From Eden. The game continues the 2D grid-based action systems from the first entry with updated features. During gameplay players can choose characters and equip them with unique weapons and then queue up for an online match. The game features deckbuilding that adds in a mix of strategy and real-time action. Players will combine spells and abilities through these cards that they can customize in the deck editor.
A trailer was released that shows the Alpha gameplay, but it’s good to mention that this is a PvP game. The original featured a story and characters, but this entry will focus on online components. Further, the publisher has confirmed that this will also feature rollback netcode for limited lag. Considering how quick this gameplay can get, the implentation of this code is needed.
The developer has confirmed that there will be a tutorial and training mode available to learn the controls and understand character hitboxes and abilities.
We’ll be sure to continue to cover Duelists of Eden throughout its develment.
