Dragon Star Varnir Coming to Switch in the West Later This Summer

Idea Factory International announced that their adventure RPG Dragon Star Varnir will release on Nintendo Switch this Summer.

The publisher confirmed that the game will receive a physical release through Limited Run Games, with pre-orders opening at a later date. Further, the Switch version will include the additional weapons, armor, and level caps previously only available for purchase on other platforms for free.

Dragon Star Varnir was previously released on PlayStation 4 in the west, which contained two altered CG images. However, the PC version of the game includes all gameplay and art content from the Japanese version of the game and English, Japanese, and Traditional Chinese subtitles. This means that the two altered CG images in the western release for the PlayStation 4 version are not altered/censored in the PC version release in the west. The images include an upskirt and bath CG.

At this time, we aren’t sure if the Switch version includes these scenes. [edit] The publisher has confirmed that the Switch version will contain all of the CGs cropped* from the PS4 version.

In Dragon Star Varnir, players will find that Zephy is tasked with hunting dragon-birthing witches originally but soon finds his fate intertwined with his former enemies. It’s from then on that Zephy must fight alongside them as the fates of the dragons rest in their hands. Along the adventure, Zephy will meet other witches from all walks of life and intimidating foes who are out to exterminate both witches and dragon kind alike.
