Dragon Quest XII The Flames of Fate Announced With Worldwide Release Planned

During today’s Dragon Quest 35th Anniversary stream, the next mainline entry, Dragon Quest XII The Flames of Fate, was announced. There is only a logo shown for the title so far, with no gameplay of any kind being shown. This is stated to be a Dragon Quest title for adults.

“What is the purpose of life?” is one of the central questions the title poses. The narrative is about having options, which has to do with the purpose of life. The game’s ambiance is more mature and will drift away from the cartoony nature that the series is known for.

The planned platforms for release are unknown and the developer doesn’t seem to want to reveal them just yet.

They are changing the combat system, but it will still retain commands. Old fans will find the experience familiar. They are aiming for a worldwide release.
