Square Enix released a new trailer for their upcoming RPG adventure Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, coming to PlayStation 4, and PC-via Steam on September 4 in North America.
The new trailer introduces the game’s cast of playable party members including:
Throughout the game, players will get to know each these heroes and learn their strengths and weaknesses in battle as well as their individual personalities. Each of the characters has been designed by comic book artist Akira Toriyama, who is also known for his other works found in Dragon Ball, Chrono Trigger, and Blue Dragon.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is a standalone adventure in the Dragon Quest series and features new characters and a new battle features. Players will control a boy as he enters his coming of age ceremony at the age of 16. Evidently, it’s discovered that he is the reincarnation of a hero that saved the world many years before. This puts a heavy mission on the boy and he must set out on the quest he’s been destined with.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is also in development for Nintendo Switch.

Author’s take: As much as I’d like the Nintendo 3DS version to come west, I’m excited to go on a new Dragon Quest adventure. Does that make me a “Take what you can get” kind of person? Probably.
