Square Enix has begun a new promotional video series for Dragon Quest VII Reimagined titled the Adventure Log.
This video specifically showcases the environments prospective players can anticipate, namely the starting island and other lands you eventually travel to.
Originally released on PlayStation before later being reintroduced on Nintendo 3DS, Dragon Quest VII is one of the most expansive entries in the series. The reimagined version introduces a handcrafted 3D aesthetic inspired by real-world diorama models.
The story remains faithful to the original while receiving adjustments to pacing, along with additional optional side quests and minigames. Players will once again piece together fragments to unlock islands and explore new areas.
Combat has been overhauled with new mechanics. A revamped vocation system now allows characters to “Moonlight” by using two vocations at once. Other improvements include a redesigned UI and various quality-of-life features designed to streamline the lengthy RPG.
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined will be released on February 5, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
