Dragon Quest Treasures Details Monster Recruitment, Species & Fortes; New English Screenshots

Square Enix has shared more gameplay details regarding their upcoming adventure title, Dragon Quest Treasures. Monsters are detailed this time as recruitable allies found throughout the islands of Draconia.

When a monster is defeated, players might receive a message stating that the former foe has been scouted, implying that monster acquisition is dependent on luck. The base will house a list of all scouted monsters, and players will have to grant them the items they request to get them to join the party.

Each monster’s colored frame around its portrait indicates ranking, with their order of rarity being bronze, silver, gold, or rainbow. Further, before finalizing recruitments, various information pertaining to the monsters can be perused, such as their attributes, resistances, traits, favorite treasures, and abilities.

Every monster is distinct in terms of exploration expertise and what types of treasure they specialize in finding. However, particular facets, like resistance and treasure capacity, are shared amongst all members of a species. More progress made throughout the game will make Erik and Mia more popular, too, leading to monsters yearning to be scouted of their own accord without having to be fought.

Regarding monster specificities, special monsters can be found throughout one’s journey, with a highlighted one being Oozabella.

Dragon Quest Treasures follows Erik and Mia, both prominent characters from Dragon Quest XI, with Erik even having been a party member. However, in this title, these siblings are taken away from the Viking ship they normally reside in to a new world called Draconia, housing a myriad of treasures, including the Seven Dragonstones. Conveniently, Erik and Mia can communicate with the monsters here, allowing for integral cooperation regarding treasure hunting.

Dragon Quest Treasures is releasing for Nintendo Switch worldwide on December 9, 2022.
