Dragon Quest III HD-2D Announced For Home Consoles; Planned for a Simultaneous Worldwide Release
During today’s Dragon Quest 35th Anniversary live stream, a remake of Dragon Quest III, called Dragon Quest III HD-2D, has been announced for a simultaneous worldwide release on home consoles.
Masaaki Hayasaka, who has worked on Octoapth Traveler and Various Daylife, briefly discussed the upcoming title. This HD-2D style combines pixel art with 3D effects to emit a unique sense of depth and atmosphere.
The team desires this game to be approachable to adults who played the original Dragon Quest III and children picking it up for the first time.
They have not specified what home consoles it is releasing for or a release date, but a Nintendo Switch release seems likely.
