The publisher has released the game with a few menu updates to take advantage of the touch screen. Players can place blocks by tapping the screen and destroy blocks and items more easily with specialized cursors. A convenient Undo Button function has also been added to allow you to restore your work. Convert your buildings into Build Cards to share with friends and scan their buildings to have them show up on your island.
New downloadable content was added in, including “Terra Incognita,” the land where you can freely build and play.
During gameplay, players explore a block world as they aim to defeat the Dragonlord following a time of a lack of creativity. Throughout various set pieces, players must craft new structures and invite people from all around to join their cause.
Dragon Quest Builders was first released on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation Vita in 2016. The game received some high praise from fans taking the Minecraft influence, but providing a well-crafted Dragon Quest adventure. Given that this is the first entry, many of the extra features aren’t here such as flying, but this game is a perfect introduction to the unique blend of crafting and RPG.
