Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Sold 2 Million Copies Worldwide, Just Saiyan

Bandai Namco announced that the CyberConnect2-developed adventure RPG, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, has sold over 2 million copies worldwide across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

The game launched on January 17 and is a retelling of the Dragon Ball Z story arcs. Players take control of the Z fighters as they find themselves in some of the most iconic battles in the series. While the story focuses on Goku, there are times in the story where he is dead or just not present, so the game allows players to play as Gohan, Vegeta, and others too.

The high sold numbers are great for the developer and publisher as while this is an action game, it does have some strong RPG systems. Players roam an open-world where they can accept quests and look for hidden treasure. Other gameplay options include mini-games or just checking in on old friends.

In Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot Goku must work hard towards becoming the strongest fighter in the world, possibly even saving the world once or twice along the way. The game takes place in the Namek saga, where Goku will encounter many foes, including Frieza, which includes moments where almost all of Goku’s friends are defeated or killed.
