Bandai Namco Trademarks “Sparking! Zero,” Potentially the New Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi Game

Outlet Gematsu spotted a trademark Bandai Namco filed called “Sparking! Zero” in the United States on September 26, 2023. For those unaware, the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi series is known as Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! in Japan, so it’s very likely that this new trademark is connected to that.

In fact, a new Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi video game was announced earlier this year.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi is quite the beloved sub-series for the IP, spanning four titles, including three mainline ones and the Tag Team PSP entry. This particular set of games has been dormant for well over a decade, with the last new title released in 2010.

Unfortunately, there is little to no information on this now elusive title. However, Bandai Namco stated during their Games Battle Hour broadcast that it is in the early stages of development. There is no estimated release window or planned platforms, either.
