A brand-new Dragon Ball animated series has been announced titled Dragon Ball DAIMA to celebrate the franchise’s 40th anniversary.
Not much is yet known about this new anime, but it will be an original story starring younger versions of the main cast, meaning that this isn’t a continuation of Dragon Ball Super.
Series creator Akira Toriyama is at the helm of this project, handling the story and character designs. Additionally, Dragon Ball DAIMA is planned to premiere in Fall 2024.
Personally, this announcement has me pretty excited as someone who loves the original Dragon Ball series. While I doubt this will recapture the sense of adventure that Dragon Ball had at that time, I’m open to whatever happens here.
We’ll keep you all updated on this exciting, unexpected project.
