Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is “Authentic and True to the Original” Even With a Few Additional Elements
Serenity Forge released a gameplay trailer from their upcoming release Doki Doki Literature Club Plus, coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Series X, Nintendo Switch, and PC-via Steam on June 30, 2021.
The gameplay is hosted by the developer, Dan, who walks players through the added content in this release. It seems like the developer wanted to make sure that returning fans could experience the same psychological elements the game is known for. However, it still is accessible to new players.
This version of the game contains 6 new side stories adding hours of gameplay to the experience. In addition, there are now 100+ unlockable images that range from new game art to wallpapers to concept art. Further, there are now 26 tracks for the soundtrack and a DDLC music player to listen to the songs whenever you want. The game has also upgraded all of its assets to 1080p.
Doki Doki Literature Club Plus has players assume the role of a character who has just joined the Literature Club at school and is searching for a romantic interest. Through gameplay, you’ll write poems and make choices that may charm the girls around you and unearth the horror of school romance. This is a dating sim with a twist, and some endings aren’t always happy.
