Inti Creates has announced that its mecha action game mecha action game Divine Dynamo Flamefrit will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on November 21, 2024. Additionally, the title will be released on Steam a week early on November 14, 2024.
The latest trailer showcases more of this title’s mecha action and retro-styled environments. Divine Dynamo Flamefrit is designed to evoke nostalgia, blending 90s anime aesthetics with 2D action. Players control Yuto Hino, a young man summoned to a fantasy world, and his talking robot partner, Flamefrit.
The game features top-down 2D action stages where Yuto uses his sword and magic to battle enemies. When facing giant bosses, Yuto boards Flamefrit for exciting first-person combat. Directed by Tai Toshiaki and Hiroki Miyazawa, both veterans of Inti Creates’ action titles, the game promises a blend of strategic gameplay and nostalgic charm.
Aside from straight-action combat, the boss battles switch the experience to the first-person, where players must control the mech to avoid damage and take down large creatures. It’s a unique system we haven’t often seen from the developer in the past, so it’ll be interesting to see here.
