Disney & Marvel D23 Games Showcase Announced For Next Month; New Reveals & Updates Arriving

Disney & Marvel have announced that they will be hosting a dedicated video game showcase on September 9, 2022, at the D23 Expo.

Disney & Pixar Games, Marvel Games, Lucasfilm Games, and 20th Century Games will be showing a variety of gaming-related content, including new reveals from Disney Dreamlight Valley, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, and LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Further, a currently unannounced Marvel game from Skydance Media will showcase a sneak peek. Unspecified special guests, interviews, and giveaways will also occur.

It is to be expected that one of the more highly desired IPs that many yearn to see appear is Kingdom Hearts. However, while there is no confirmation on it arriving, 2022 does mark the series’ 20-year anniversary. Plus, Kingdom Hearts IV and Missing-Link are on the way, so there is certainly a chance of Kingdom Hearts appearing at D23. Still, I wouldn’t hold your breath. Simply be open to the possibility instead of forging assumptions.

Prospective watchers can tune in to the event live via the following links:

In Kingdom Hearts IV, Sora is in Quadratum with Strelitzia, a prominent character from Kingdom Hearts Union χ. This setting is an afterworld for the two characters following their tragic fates. Additionally, this new saga has been titled the Lost Master Arc. Further, some combat footage was showcased, with Sora performing Keyblade transformations against a giant entity that seems to be a Heartless? We don’t know for sure.

“The heart resides within the soul, which in turn is guided by fate to its rightful place” is a crucial phrase used at the start of this trailer for the upcoming mainline game.
