Disgaea 7 Revealed in Trailer for PS4, PS5, and Switch; Japan Only for Now

Nippon Ichi Software announced that they will release Disgaea 7 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch on January 26, 2023. The publisher has not confirmed an English release at this time, but we’re sure that the announcement is coming soon.

The game will be directed by Shunsuke Minowa, who previously worked on Disgaea 5: Alliance of Vengeance. The game is said to retain much of what fans love about the series, including its over-the-top characters and strategy RPG systems. These elements of the series make in “infinitely” replayable to many of the fans.

The story of Disgaea 7 is set in a world known as the “Hinomoto Netherworld Cluster,” inspired by Japanese culture. Our protagonists in the game must fight through the world to regain their lost Bushido. Character designer Takehito Harada makes a return with many of the characters being of his design.

The game follows Fuji, a poor demon who is allergic to human expressions, including emotions such as love and friendship. Further, other characters include Piririka, Ao, Wey-yasu, and Higan Zesshousai, who each join the adventure. A new feature of the game is Dodeka MAX, where the character grows larger than the map and can unleash powerful attack to multiple enemies. Additionally, items can now be reincarnated to be stronger, similar to weapons. Characters can also be reincarnated to return to level 1, but with the option to retain some of their stats.
