Digimon World: Next Order Coming Worldwide to Switch and Steam on February 2023

Bandai Namco has revealed Digimon World: Next Order is coming to Switch and PC via Steam. The new edition of the latest raising sim in the Digimon World series will be available worldwide on February 22, 2023. The Switch release was announced on Japanese magazine V-Jump but a new trailer confirms it’s coming to the Americas and Europe, as well as the Steam release.

Digimon World: Next Order is a sequel to the original PlayStation game from 1999. This open-world mix of raising sim and RPG tells the story of a group of kids who end up going to the Digital World during a moment of crisis. It’s up to the player (who can take on the role of a young male or female) to raise their partners and learn of the true state of the world.

The main hook of this one in particular is the fact you have two partners at the same time. Not only does that mean double the bathroom time and more coordination to manage them simultaneously, it also opens up possibilities with type advantage/disadvantage control and the classic DNA evolution (jogress). Altogether, there are over 200 Digimon that the player may have as partners.

While Digimon World: Next Order was originally released on the Vita in Japan, it was later remade for PlayStation 4 fixing various issues and adding new elements to make it a better experience. According to the V-Jump announcement, the Switch edition will also feature a new Beginner Mode and the option to run so you can go faster through the vast world.

A video message from Producers Kazumasa Habu and Takahiro Yokota were shared, viewable below:
