Digimon Survive’s Japan Nintendo Switch Version Will Include English Subtitles

Recently, the Japanese Nintendo Switch eShop page for the upcoming tactical JRPG, Digimon Survive, was listed. And while it doesn’t contain much particularly noteworthy, the supported languages for this upcoming release of the title are stated to contain both English and Japanese subtitles.

As far as we know so far, the American and European releases of the game will include other language options, but the digital store pages for those versions are not yet available. Considering how Digimon Survive launches next week, it’s more than a bit odd that more regional storefronts have not listed it yet, including Steam and PSN. Hopefully, that will change soon ahead of release.

Digimon Survive will focus heavily on the story of the characters and their relationships with their Digimon. The team’s approach to this new title will utilize this generation’s hardware as much as possible in a blend of 2D illustration with 3D environments. During battles, Digimon will be able to Digivolve right on the maps. The matches’ battle flow will be as fluid as possible while retaining the strategic mechanics of taking advantage of enemy weaknesses.

Digimon Survive will feature dramatic story sections where players learn more about the characters and the world, much like a visual novel. In addition, however, additional gameplay elements have been added to feature large-scale battles between Digital Monsters.

Digimon Survive is releasing for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam on July 29, 2022.
