As Digimon Survive‘s release approaches, the official Digimon games Twitter account will be sharing the profiles of the main characters and their Digimon. First in the line is the protagonist Takuma Momozuka and his partner Agumon.
Takuma Momozuka is the main character in the game and the one whose decisions the player can choose. He’s an average kid in the 8th grade at school, and his family is nice with nothing remarkable about it either. As part of his studies on regional legends and folklore, he joins the camping trip. After a visit to a local shrine, he and the other kids find themselves in another world brimming with dangers and mysteries.
While he feels initially lost, he’ll gather his resolve to find a way back home for all his friends that are stuck in this new world. Takuma will have the help of a partner he meets in this world, Agumon, who’s also resolute in protecting his newfound friend.
Digimon fans will no doubt recognize Agumon, as the creature is one of the most popular in the multimedia franchise. Other individuals of the same species include Tai’s partner in Digimon Adventure, Damon’s partner in Digimon Data Squad, one of Nokia’s partners in Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, and many others.
This reptile Digimon will have a variety of possible evolutions depending on Takuma’s dialogue choices. We already know its vaccine type champion-stage evolution will be Greymon while its data type is Tyrannomon. A third evolution will also be available, likely going down the virus type path.
As is the case for previous media pieces in which Agumon was involved, his voice actor is Chika Sakamoto. Meanwhile, Takuma Momozuka’s voice actor is Kohei Amasaki, who voiced Otto Suwen in Re:Zero, Emilio in Piofiore: Fated Memories, and Kanata Hjuger in Tales of Crestoria, and had many other roles in anime and games. Digimon Survive will only include Japanese voices and subtitles for English and other languages.
