Digimon Survive Sells Over 500,000 Units Worldwide

Bandai Namco has announced that the latest entry in the Digimon franchise, Digimon Survive, has sold over 500,000 units worldwide across all platforms. To be honest, this sales number is pretty praiseworthy for a title that’s primarily a visual novel, which is a genre that doesn’t exactly perform strongly in most scenarios.

Digimon Survive heavily focuses on the story of the characters and their relationships with their Digimon. The team’s approach to this new title utilizes this generation’s hardware as much as possible in a blend of 2D illustration with 3D environments. During battles, Digimon will be able to Digivolve right on the maps. The matches’ battle flow will be as fluid as possible while retaining the strategic mechanics of taking advantage of enemy weaknesses.

Digimon Survive features dramatic story sections where players learn more about the characters and the world, much like a visual novel. In addition, however, additional gameplay elements have been added to feature large-scale battles between Digital Monsters.

Digimon Survive is now available on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
