Detective Pikachu Returns Shares New Trailer Recapping the Story of the First Game

Nintendo has shared a new video for Detective Pikachu Returns. This trailer details what happened in the first game, Detective Pikachu for Nintendo 3DS, as this information will be important for the upcoming mystery adventure game.

Detective Pikachu Returns tells the story of a young man called Tim Goodman and Detective Pikachu. Together the two investigate a variety of Pokémon-related incidents in Ryme City but they also have the common goal of finding Tim’s father, Harry, who was Pikachu’s partner and went missing in an accident.

While Tim talks to humans and understands Pikachu’s speech, the small creature with a penchant for coffee can get answers straight from the other Pokémon’s mouths. The two can also get help in their investigations from Pokémon like Growlithe, Galarian Darmanitan and Luxray, each of which has special skills.

In the new video we get to see Detective Pikachu talking about what happened in the story so far. He recaps Harry’s accident, his meeting with Tim, and the R incidents in the first game. Tim and Pikachu are still searching for Harry’s whereabouts, so this information is likely to come in handy during the game.
