Destiny 2’s Season of Splicer Brings Back the Vault of Glass Raid with New Gear and More Later this Month
Bungie has launched the newest season for Destiny 2, known as Season of the Splicer. In this season, players return to the Vault of Glass raid from the original Destiny title.
Guardians will hack into the Vex simulation in the six-player matchmade activity Override to steal Vex code and reveal secrets. Guardians can also run the weekly pinnacle mission Expunge, which uncovers and exploits vulnerabilities in the Vex Network to collapse it from the inside.
On May 22, Guardians will finally be able to participate in the Vault of Glass (VoG) raid. For newcomers, this raid consists of Guardians navigating fractures in time and space to find Atheon, Time’s Conflux. The thought-provoking Vex must be shut down deep within the vault before its power grows to unfathomable extents.
The raid has been optimized for a more modern player-friendly experience. New challenges and triumphs and some old favorites will be earnable as well.
The Armor Synthesis is free for all players. It brings transmog to Destiny by unlocking the power to create a Universal Ornament from any piece of armor in a Guardian’s possession. Owners of the Season Pass will also gain immediate access to the Exotic Stasis Sidearm Cryosthesia 77K, Season-specific Universal Ornaments, and XP boosts.
Season of the Splicer will run from May 11th to August 24th.
