Retro Action RPG ‘The Demon Crystal’ Gets Steam Release Date

Regista announced that the YMCAT developed action RPG The Demon Crystal will launch on PC-via Steam on March 28.

The Demon Crystal originally launched in 1984 from developer YMCAT on MSX and other PC engine platforms. More recently, the game released on as a Nintendo Switch eShop title on December 28.

The Demon Crystal is set in a country known as Fareis which was once peaceful, but over time the kingdom grew corrupt. In order to bring the region to its lively self once again, Princess Chris enlisted a member of her Royal Guard, Ares Nizer, as governor. During that time, darkness rose from far away and an evil devil named Sharud attacked. Fareis rose arms against Sharud, but over time were annihilated by his power and by his evil guards, Tarantula, Warrior, Ghost, Dark Warrior, and Copper. We know, this isn’t actually going anywhere. Anyway, Ares Nizer, remember him? sets out to collect Bombs of Fire located around Fareis that are rumored to be strong enough to take down Sharud.

So if this game doesn’t scream the ’80s then I don’t know what does. Regista also released a trailer showing gameplay from the retro title that has received some visual improvements. The game will also support English, French, Spanish, and Korean language options.
